All of a Sudden (P. Berg)

silence robbed a busy day,

every routine collapsed

a phone call hit you like a stroke

you stood alone and gasped

although you do your best

to live on with the extant rest

sometimes you fail to deny

what you see in your mind's eye

and everything keeps its breath

while the air hurts your flesh

your ears fade out the tones

while sorrow creeps into your bones

All of a sudden nothing's like it was before

all of a sudden fate is knocking at your door

all of a sudden life turned your whole world upside down

life turned your whole world upside down

the year suddenly lost sight of you

to live on was the hardest task

and still the memories keep haunting you

and they can do their job real fast

all of a sudden overwhelmed by powers that be

all of a sudden the only question is „why me?“

all of a sudden life turned your whole world upside down

Golden Times (P. Berg)

Draw the curtains, put out the lights, let's cultivate our truth

but underneath our shells, so much is left to do

where is our vigor, our drive, it isn‘t that long

since we were certain of golden times.

life was putting spokes in our wheels

we struggled to creep on

only nurtured our fears

avoided fate at that time

millions don't know what they seek

under a sky full of stars

even if they are out of reach

they keep shining through the dark

the lame excuses are fading, you frightened them off

clear words are spoken against all odds

keep your head up, follow your way, welcome back on track

and each of us is confident to be heading towards

golden times

life will put spokes in your wheels

keep marching on

Never turn on your heels

let's face fate right on

Black Forest Home (P. Berg)

The city lights hurt in my eyes the noise tortures my ears.

If I'd only knew a face or two, so many men but noone's near.

As I hit the streets I feel like I am lost on track.

A trick of the brain reminds me of what I lack

It sends me back to the places where I'm from:

To a valley green, a river's blazing sheen.

Where the nights are dark I'm lighted within my heart.

I'm back on the track to my black forest home

I lived in places where everyone wants to be.

I've seen faces that everyone wants to see.

Woke up in Paris, walked through London's afternoons,

Passed the nights in Rome, admired the Berlin dawn.

It sends me back to the places where I'm from:

To a valley green, to a river's blazing sheen.

Where the nights are dark I'm lighted within my heart.

I'm back on the track to my black forest home.

Emoji Song (T.Hölscher, P. Berg)

They seem to set your mind at ease

stop treating me with your emojis

I never feel that much when we are talking,

I always feel a kind relief to see you walking away

to me it is enough to meet you once in a while,

but please don't tell me anything by using your mobile

I'm sick and tired of this way of talking,

sick and tired of how things get weird,

all in all a special kind of stalking

stop treating me with your emojis

cause every minute every hour

I keep wiping them away

facing countless little pictures

just keep quiet if you have nothing to say

I'm sick and tired of this way of talking,

sick and tired of how things get weird,

all in all a special kind of stalking

stop treating me with your emojis

They seem to set your mind at ease

stop treating me with your emojis

Wayfaring Stranger (Traditional)

I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger,

travelin' through this world below.

Yet there's no sickness, no toil, or danger,

in that bright world to which I go.

I'm going there to see my Father

I'm going there no more to roam.

I'm only goin' over Jordan,

I'm only goin' over home.

I know dark clouds will gather round me,

I know my way is rough and steep.

But beauteous fields arise just before me,

where God's redeemed their vigils keep.

I'm going there to see my Mother,

she said she'd meet me when I come.

I'm only goin' over Jordan,

I'm only goin' over home.

After the Rain (P. Berg)

The rain was pouring hard when you dropped by

My face was wet and so was yours when you caught my eye

cloudy brains, delusion‘s thin

 think umbrella, think syringe

a hard sun‘s light still hits my face, the pain is on

the chair is empty as the streets down below

cloudy brains, delusion‘s thin

think umbrella, think syringe

we had our time, we felt so shure

counting my days I prayed for more

your rainy face became the grace of my latest days

my face is wet and so is yours as we embrace

though time flew by it was ours

sweet shelter of my darkest hours

its so amazing what we became

I‘ll never miss the days before the rain

cloudy brains, delusion‘s thin

your umbrella, my syringe
